The Rainbow Room in Henderson County, Texas, was established in 2000 by compassionate community members to support children entering foster care. Operated by Henderson County Community Partners and housed in the Department of Family & Protective Services building in Athens, it serves as a vital resource center stocked with new essentials—clothing, shoes, diapers, toys, school supplies, hygiene items, car seats, and beds—for children in crisis.

Over time, it has become an integral part of the Department’s mission, reflecting the community’s enduring commitment to helping vulnerable youth. Thanks to ongoing volunteer efforts and partnerships, the Rainbow Room continues to provide immediate, meaningful support and hope to children during their most difficult moments.
