HELP RAINBOW ROOM COLOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE

RESTORING DIGNITY AND HOPE

When children are removed from unsafe homes, they often leave with nothing. That’s where The Rainbow Room steps in.

Backed by former First Lady of Texas Laura Bush, this special space inside the Henderson County DFPS office is filled with essentials—clothing, toiletries, comfort items—ready at a moment’s notice. But it offers more than supplies. It offers dignity. It says, “You matter.”

In a moment of fear and upheaval, The Rainbow Room becomes a lifeline. A soft blanket. A clean shirt. A small toy. These simple things help children feel seen, safe, and cared for.

Thanks to community support and compassionate advocates, The Rainbow Room continues to shine as a symbol of love and resilience for Henderson County’s most vulnerable children.

If you suspect child abuse or neglect in the United States, you can call or text the CHILDHELP NATIONAL CHILD ABUSE HOTLINE at 800-422-4453 (800-4-A-CHILD) The hotline is free, confidential, and available 24/7 with trained counselors who can provide support, guidance, and help you make a report. If a child is in immediate danger, call 911 right away.

There can be no keener revelation of a society's soul than the way in which it treats its children.
